Meet the founder

Alistair McKinley
I'm a registered osteopath, personal trainer and soft tissue therapist with almost a decade's experience working in musculoskeletal health and exercise. I hold a Master's in Osteopathy from the University College of Osteopathy, graduating with a Distinction.
My route into healthcare started with a lifelong love of sport and my own experience of recovering from several serious injuries. Having gone through rehabilitation myself, I know how frustrating it can be when pain or injury stops you doing the things that matter to you, and how difficult the journey back can sometimes feel.
That experience initially led me into personal training, followed by soft tissue therapy and eventually osteopathy. Throughout that journey, I've become increasingly interested not simply in reducing pain, but in understanding how movement, strength, training load, recovery and the wider demands of everyday life all contribute to how someone feels and functions.
My background across osteopathy, rehabilitation and personal training shapes the way I work today. Depending on what you need, treatment may include hands-on osteopathic techniques alongside advice, movement and progressive exercise rehabilitation. For someone returning to sport or training, that can progress further into strength and conditioning and gradually rebuilding the physical capacity their activity requires.
I don't believe recovery should be passive. Hands-on treatment can be useful, but I also want you to understand your problem, know what you can do yourself and feel confident progressing beyond the treatment room. The aim is to give you both the support and the tools you need to get back to the activities that are important to you.
Outside of my clinical work, I've spent the best part of two decades strength training and taking part in sports including rock climbing, boxing and snowboarding. I've also worked alongside physiotherapists, strength and conditioning coaches and performance coaches. Those experiences have given me a strong appreciation of the demands that training and sport place on the body, as well as the process involved in returning after injury.
You don't need to be an athlete to work with me. I see people with a wide range of goals, from getting back to sport or the gym, to dealing with persistent aches and pains, improving strength and mobility, or simply being able to move through everyday life with greater confidence.
Whatever brings you in, my approach is straightforward: understand the problem as clearly as we can, decide what is most likely to help, and build a plan around what you want to get back to.
